heal me.

It is already vacation time, yet I am still so occupied with various concerns and loads.

We joined Bayani Challenge 2007 last April 9 – 13 at Daraga, Albay. I was with my bunso, Ren and Tony. The experience as a whole was very enjoyable and insightful though, there are several moments when I opted to walk through the dark streets alone, sit by the grass and talk with the star-laden sky. That was then that I realized that I don’t know myself completely.

On the lighter note, I missed the bonding and moments I had with my TAMVOL family and with my newly found friends (Team AYALA). It was fun building houses with YFC, Miriam College, and PUP people. Not to mention, I met some of the delegates of AYLC 2007 (Nikki, Rap, Steff, MR, Marvs, Carlo) and some of the AYLA. Special mention to Kuya Ralph Morales of AYLC Alumni Relations for extending the invitation.
YMCA Congress friend, Karen, who is from B.U. also visited me. I was so moved and realized that I missed my congress (Commission 1 and 12) friends a lot.

I will be working soon for e-PLDT Ventus in Ortigas. I am still waiting them to ring my phone though for my interview.

***
I missed a couple of batch get-together already. My best Rain already came home from Singapore for her OJT. I feel I am being negligent with my post as batch prexy. I missed them all though.

***
I joined the most recent immersion in our adopted Dumagat community in Rizal, after a very significant year. Ate Merci missed me a lot.

Finally, we are already seniors come June! Feels like it’s just a flick of an hour. Whoah! I am preparing a class petition against a professor-who-need-not-be-named. Just the same, I feel like listing down 10 most significant events that happened during my junior year:

1. served as the Auditor of the IAS Student Council – met my chumies, learned to love the institute and its students, initiated several projects
2. inspired the publication of the Paragon – though we were unable to come out with an issue
3. became a Galing Pilipino Young Leader
4. was FEU’s sole representative in the AYLC 2007 Top 140. (Danilo Cortez was, in his batch)
5. received a flat mark from Cristina Santos (sociolinguistics). Twas such a feat! Mind you.
6. obtained my lowest remark!
7. lost IASSC Presidency and gained a new family (IAS Sandigan Council)
8. elected as Tamaraw Volunteers’ and English Language Circle’s President.
9. continued passion towards community service
10. sold our house

Who would I show it to?

"Who would I show it to?"
-Elegy, M.S. Merwin

I feel so heavily-laden even up to this moment. Just when I thought I completely knew myself, I realized lately that I was so wrong. It is as though I am starting to re-discover my "real self" trying to find answers to such basic questions as: who I am really, what have I become after a year or two, what do I really want to do in life, and the list is long. Sounds mushy. Yes, I know. I have learned that to find answers to these questions is complementary to answering queries like: what am I obliged to do, what pressing matters affect my decision-making, among others.
I reckon this moment of my life as the most arduous. I dunno. Little by little, I am starting to get fascinated with the pain I am entrapped with. I may have been very busy concerning myself with things that need be done [as I see it]; acknowledging at the end that I, myself, am too hollowed to give. That is maybe the real beauty of giving – you can do it even if you don’t have it.

Too much with this "self-disclosure in writing therapy".

Today’s the graduation day of the FEU Batch 2007. Oh my, I am surely gonna miss several faces come June. Let me mention some of them:

*Joseph "Posty" Postigo
President of the FEU Theatre Guild; Star Bucks friend; I am gonna miss our SIFE/TAMVOL moments though I know we will still get in touch with each other. Oh my, include his mole, the popularized posty clap, the jokes and flings.
Danilo "Ilo" Cortez
My predecessor in the Tamaraw Volunteers who seemed to pattern my fate with. Haha. We both run as council presidents and lost during the second time; We were both Galing Pilipino Young Leaders; We qualified for AYLC Top 140; We were/are TAMVOL’s Vice-President then President and last but definitely not the least, we are both in love with … volunteerism and youth empowerment.

Grace Pascual
My big sister who never runs out of prayers and sound advices. See you at Volunteers for CHANGE!
*Chumie Ann – You will forever remain as one of my best chumies. I will be around.

Powki
I never really know her real name. It is immaterial though. I am pretty sure a lot of souls will miss her for she never fails to crack a joke. A true friend, indeed.

Gee
the ever tactlessly tactful lady I have come to know. I will miss seeing you debating (or simply chattering!). let’s get in touch still.

Kares/ Kevin/ Rosy
see you in V4!

Marissa
My industrious Associate Editor in the Paragon who have joined me dreaming we could publish an issue (sigh)

Paragon girls (Angel, Charley, Japs!, Rhea, Loraine)
there is never a wasted effort! Thanks for all and see you in the future.

*Victor Vitug/ Rhona/ Fat
FEUCSO friends who have also become close to my heart.

Michael Pamular
my daddy; thanks for the leadership principles I have come to learn from you. ELC’s in good hands. :)
Nursing SC friends (Bryan/Mich)
coffee moments

Randolf
the ever laborious president of the Biology Society. I missed editing BioPhage (really!)

Shiela (BS Bio)
I will treasure our badminton moments.

ELC family
congrats everyone. We’ll see each other sa homecoming.

*and to all those unnamed souls who, in one way or another, became a part of me.

Again, congratulations and good luck. We are truly going to miss you our dear seniors!
